New York City Regency Dance Workshops
The Elegant Arts Society began originally as a way to learn and
practice Regency dancing on a regular basis. While we now enjoy other
periods of historic dance as well, Regency remains an important part
of our mission and we continue to offer regular monthly workshops in
New York City. For the first ten months of the year, we learn
and practice a variety of quadrille and country dance figures, waltzes,
and Scotch reels in preparation for our annual
Assembly in mid-October. The last two classes of the year are
an opportunity for us to explore unusual dances of the era.
No previous experience is needed and the classes
are not sequential; join us any time! Workshops are generally the
first Sunday of the month in lower Manhattan; a full year's calendar
including the NYC workshops as well as other EAS classes and events
is here.
Please see our class
information page for more information about EAS workshops in Regency and other
eras of historic dance.
