Friends of the English Regency
Dance Repertoire

The twelve dances below are the core of the repertoire created by John Hertz for the Friends of the English Regency in Los Angeles, California, and commonly danced at Regency Balls at many science fiction conventions. (Another ten of John's dances, of greater difficulty, are not listed here.)

Because these dances are not actually of the Regency era, incorporate many elements from both earlier and later eras of dance, and are performed in a very modern style, EAS does not teach these dances or program them at our balls. Some information on each is included below for reference purposes for those interested in this material. For more information on these dances, and others in the John Hertz/Friends of the English Regency repertoire, please contact them directly.
