Please join the members of the Elegant Arts Society for our annual Assembly, two days of early nineteenth century dance and pastimes from the era of Jane Austen, Napoleon, Beau Brummel, and Lord Byron.

Saturday afternoon, prepare for the evening's ball with a dance workshop. In the evening, join us in formal wear or period costume for a lively ball with music by the wonderful musicians of Spare Parts and delicious refreshments prepared from the sources of the era. The ball and dance workshops will be precepted by Susan de Guardiola, who will lead us in lively country dances and Scotch reels along with the very latest French import, the Quadrille (as danced by Lady Jersey at Almack's), Mr. Wilson's new Royal Scotch Quadrilles, and the scandalous Waltz.

Sunday afternoon, enjoy a delightful afternoon of Regency-era games accompanied by still more scrumptious refreshments.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended - people will be admitted at the door only if space permits!

Early 19th century costume for ladies and gentlemen is encouraged and admired, but not reqired; formal wear is requested for Saturday's ball. Comfortable casual clothing is fine for the dance workshops. Period daywear or semiformal modern dress is suitable for Sunday. Flat leather-soled shoes or dance slippers are recommended for the ball - no sneakers, and absolutely no high heels!
